Site last updated 1st February 2012 Breeding ProgrammeAlmost all dogs offered for sale are from the ACT breeding programme. All adults and puppies are micro-chipped before entry into the programme so that information in relation to each individual adult/puppy can be traced and recorded giving us valuable information as to the progress of each animal. Great care and attention is taken in relation to the selection of breeding females and any potential sires, all of the dogs used in our breeding programme have to be able to pass the selection criteria as for all candidates offered for sale and we are looking at working drive, problem solving ability, temperament and trainability coupled with a first class veterinary examination of the animal's hips and front elbows. From the age of 8 weeks the puppies are monitored until we have candidates that we think will make top quality detection dogs and at 10-12 months are then ready for selection for visiting agencies. Any puppy is removed from our programme should they not meet our exacting standards. All of our potential candidates are subjected to unfamiliar places and environments and have to be able to cope with urban situations and perform to a very high standard. Labrador's and English Springer Spaniels are the breeds focused on at ACT. Content Management with U DO from Libertas Solutions Northern Ireland Web Design | | ||
